To ensure optimal results, it is important that you take extra care of your newly hydroseeded area. Here are some important hydroseed care instructions to follow:
Here are some important hydroseed care instructions to follow:
Watering
We recommend watering regularly either by manual watering or irrigation systems. The goal is to keep the surface of newly seeded areas consistently moist, like a sponge.
Note: You will notice that the dye used in the slurry application (turquoise) will fade within a day or so. This is expected and does not indicate any problem with the hydroseed application.
Once the seed is 100% germinated, you can water less frequently however, this will vary depending on temperature. Keep an eye on your newly seeded area and modify your watering to adjust for high temperatures and fluctuations during heavy rains.
Cutting
Any mowing/cutting is to only be done after the vegetation is well established to ensure the seed
has fully rooted into the soils below.
Fertiliser
Fertilisers have been applied in the initial hydroseed application. We recommend you fertilise
annually after the initial application. Warning: Do not over fertilise. Carefully follow the
instructions provided on the fertiliser packaging. We recommend using a high nitrogen &
phosphate fertiliser. Do not use a fertiliser with weed control during the first 3 months of growth.
Warning DO NOT USE weed control products on new grass.
Weed control chemicals can destroy fledging grasses. If you notice weeds growing in your hydroseeded area, do not be concerned. Over time, the grass will grow denser and most
weeds will be choked out by advancing grass roots.
Those that remain can be easily removed by hand until the vegetation is fully established.
On Going Care
Regular inspections are advised to remove any unwanted self-sets and to maintain the
vegetation as per the watering and cutting instructions.

All reported vegetation failures will be inspected by GeoGrow Limited.
