Retaining walls & structures

Retaining walls and structures are essential components in construction and landscaping, designed to hold back soil and maintain different ground elevations. They prevent soil erosion, manage water runoff, and create usable spaces on sloped terrains.

Traditional retaining walls are often constructed from materials like concrete or stone, which, while effective, can be visually unappealing and environmentally intrusive. In contrast, modern solutions such as the Rootlok Vegetated Wall System offer a more sustainable and aesthetically pleasing alternative.

This system utilises geotextile bags filled with soil, which are then vegetated to create a living wall. The vegetated facade not only blends seamlessly into the natural environment but also provides additional benefits such as improved biodiversity and enhanced stormwater management.

The Rootlok system is versatile, suitable for constructing gravity walls up to 2.1 metres in height without reinforcement. For taller structures, reinforcement can be incorporated to support walls exceeding 4 metres. This adaptability makes it ideal for various applications, from small garden projects to large-scale infrastructure developments.

Retaining and structural walls play a crucial role in managing soil and water in various settings. Innovative solutions like the Rootlok Vegetated Wall System offer sustainable, durable, and visually appealing alternatives to traditional methods, aligning with modern environmental and aesthetic considerations.
